Electronic waste in Germany: The figures are alarming
In 2022, around 3.2 million tons of electrical equipment were placed on the market in Germany, but only 901,100 tons were collected – a collection rate of just 32%. This is well below the EU’s legal requirement of 65% and even represents a decline compared to previous years (source: Deutsche Umwelthilfe). Companies play a key role in improving this rate, as they often use large quantities of electronic equipment that can be recycled.
